UPDATE: Proponent led ACCU methods – Which have the highest likelihood of progression?

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) closed the first proponent-led methods expression of interest period on July 12 and published 43 new method ideas, across three broad categories – Agriculture and land, Waste, Industrial and Energy. With the release of triage criteria weighting and prioritisation, we expect that many of the newly proposed method ideas will not progress to becoming proposed method in the current round, while those that do progress are expected to be of significant scale and integrity.

In this update, we discuss the new EOI process, including the triage framework to evaluate new methods, and our expectations for methodologies to progress.
