Our Generic ACCU (Benchmark) price assessment again rallied to reach a 16-month high last week, despite traded volumes slowing after a record week, with spot trading led by Generic No-Avoided Deforestation ACCUs. OTC trading continues to dominate the derivatives market, with sellers increasingly turning to forward strips, while bid/ask spreads widened across ASX ACCU Futures contracts. In this report, we summarise the recent release of proposed transparency reforms to the ACCU scheme, and the Clean Energy Regulator’s largest single issuance over the past year.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessments, method spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments.
